Jack from Fat Jacks Erratic Rants hosted the gig because Blogaroni founder Larry Litle of Simple Thoughts of a Complex Mind couldn't be there.
That was not the hitch. He did a great job- until he got to one award. Jack, in a fit frustration and impatience, ripped an envelope and the award inside. Yikes!
In all fairness, Larry had licked and sealed the manila envelopes thus making them extremely cumbersome to open. Stop lickin' the envelopes Larry! Or, at the very least, send a letter opener with Jack. The poor thing is probably soaking his fingertips in a warm bath as I type this.
Among the attendees:
- Chatter-master Ron Davis was fashionably late- is there any other way?
- Local Political blogger and Bus-nut Jim Lee was in the house.
- Desdinova, Super Villain of the Ozarks was there. If you were there, you'd know who he is (you missed out Vincent!).
- Local Necktie enthusiast (with a specialty in those owned by City Councilman Dan Chiles) Jason Wertz was there representin' Life of Jason. Being the romantic that he is, he brought his fiance' along for "date night".
- Emily Rittman of KSPR 33 fame was there to remind us that T.V. People Are People Too (and we're not disputing her claim).
- I'm embarrassed that I don't remember his name (please forgive me?) but the proprietor of Ozarks Storms was there too! On his blog he refers himself to "JMo" and "Sambora". I hereby dub him "JMo Sambora".
- I didn't know he was a Doctor! Dr. Andrew Cline from Rhetorica biked in for the event.
- And last but not least, Chris Brewer had something brewin'- and then pulled out his iPhone and all was forgotten.
I believe a good time was had by all. The Baked Potato soup was hot and tasty as were the debates between Ron and Jim. I'm definitely looking forward to the next meeting!
Oh, and before I forget- The invitation is still open to join Jim Lee and I on his bus March 22nd for the Dive Bar Bus Plunge! We've decided to meet at one place to have dinner and then go to a couple of other spots from there. It should be fun! Just email me to let us know you wanna go!

It was good to meet you and the rest of the gang. I will have to vouch for the chipotle chicken sandwich, that thing was wicked awesome.
Glad my technogeekery was able to hold everyone's interest for quite some time! :)
It was good to meet you!
In response to the comment you left at Red Pen, Inc.: Damn right we can be friends! I've seen Beck ten times, met him three times, own basically all his albums (including the super-duper-rare *Golden Feelings* cassette...and the *A Western Harvest Field by Moonlight* vinyl with original fingerpainting)...Beck's been my favorite musician for 12 years now. I'm slightly Beck-crazed. :) I love how much of a chameleon Beck is with his music--always reinventing himself, always trying something new (or something retro that he recycles into something new). ...What's your favorite Beck album?
